Finding Your Courage
Bravery is not the absence of fear. Bravery is experiencing fear, and choosing to move forward anyways. Fear is a natural part of the human experience, but it is up to us to choose how we respond to life in moments of fear and challenge.
Pushing ourselves to be “fearless” is almost like striving for perfectionism, it doesn't really exist. However, just because fear is present in our human experience, doesn't mean that we have to succumb to it. When we allow our fears to dictate how we live in the world, we are missing out on opportunities to grow, become stronger, and develop a profound sense of courage.
When we feel afraid, it is also important that we don;t dismiss or ignore those emotions. Like all emotions, fear has value and it is our mind’s way of trying to protect us. When we experience this, it is important to open our hearts so that we can offer ourselves love, compassion, and grace. When we align with these positive emotions, we can acknowledge our fears, see what they are trying to tell us, and then say to ourselves, “I know you feel afraid, and that is okay. We can feel afraid, and be brave too.”
Know that bravery has always been a part of you. It flows through your veins, and reminds you that you are bigger than any challenge. So call on your courage and choose to meet life with full presence and power. Know that you grow stronger each day, and that no life experience can overpower or overwhelm you when you are connected to the strength of your Soul.
You are unstoppable. You are fierce. You are brave.
Bravely let your light shine, and stand tall in who you are. Move forward in trust and openness. Live despite the fear. Be brave enough to change, to transform, and to take life as it comes.
Go forth with courage.
